Adam was a son of God. He was created in the image of God.

Cain was born in the image of fallen Adam, so are all of Adam’s descendants. Hence Jesus said that one born in the image of fallen Adam must be reborn in the image of the Second Adam Jesus Christ to become a son of God.

Sons of men need to be transformed by the renewing of the mind with the Word of God to become sons of God.

What you think determines what is in your heart. What is in your heart determines what you say.  What you say determines who you are and who you are determines your final destination, which can be heaven or the lake of fire.

As a minister of the gospel of Christ, what you tell your congregation shapes their thought-pattern.  You can send members of your congregation to heaven or to hell depending on what you feed their hearts and minds with.  That is why the Bible says: “My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.” (Jam 3:1-2 NKJV)

Submitting yourself to God is not merely accepting the substitutionary work of Christ and being born again. That’s part of it.  In the main, it means submitting your thoughts, words and action to the standards of God’s Word, the Bible and the control of the Holy Spirit.

Some decade ago, I was a member of Rotary International. The club has a motto called ‘The Four-Way Test.’ It was recited at every weekly meeting of the Club. It goes like this:

The 4-way test of the things we think say or do:

  • Is it the TRUTH?
  • Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  • Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?”

Rotary International is not a Christian organisation. People from different faiths belong to it. The four-way test is a good guide. The world would become a more peaceful place to live in if everybody followed these rules.

While visiting the Philippines, I attended a Rotary meeting where I was asked to say a few words.  I spoke on God’s 8-way test, using the 4-way test as analogy. I posited that man lives in two dimensions. Events take place in the spirit realm before they manifest in the physical realm. The four-way test can only be achieved in this life if the spiritual dimension is taken care of. God searches the hearts and the reigns.

Sometime ago I had a dream where I was shown how the thoughts of my heart were transmitted in heaven like news from a radio broadcasting station. The sound was so loud that I was thoroughly embarrassed that what I was thinking in the privacy of my heart was heard clearly not by God only but by heavenly personalities. I made the common mistake of thinking that God listens to me only when I am praying.

At that time I adjusted by thinking habit. But as time went on there was a relapse. Recently, I am ashamed of the type of thoughts that cross my mind and are allowed to linger for a fleeting moment before I came to myself. So, this write-up is designed to remind me of what to do per time regarding my thought-life.

We have formalised prayer to the point that we become conscious of our thoughts when we knell to pray or in worship mode. Even at such times distractions occur. James tells us that “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”(Jam 1:8).

I have come to realise that meditation is an important aspect of prayer. Our prayer life depends more on what we think about when we are not in prayer mode than what we talk about at private or corporate altars.

The bible has made provision for thinking the right thoughts. This is because spiritual warfare is a battle of the mind. “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy–meditate on these things.” (Phil 4:8 NKJV)

Philippians 4:8 is the Bible standard for meditation. Anything that falls short of this eight-way test must be discarded. For a thought to enter a believer’s mind and be entertained it must be subjected to this eight-way test:

  • Is it the TRUTH?
  • Is it NOBLE?
  • Is it JUST?
  • Is it PURE?
  • Is it LOVELY?
  • Is it of GOOD REPORT?
  • Is it VIRTUOUS

If the answer to the thought that is lingering in your mind is positive on these eight points, then go ahead and meditate on it. The Lord will be delighted. As it is written: “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

The most assured way of drawing near to God is through proper meditation.  Use the eight-way test. It works.

LAMB’S BOOK OF LIFE: Seven-Sealed Scroll

Seven-Sealed Scroll

In eternity past God the Father had a meeting with God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The sons of God were in attendance. The purpose of the meeting was the expansion of the household of God by creating a physical domain for the eternal habitation of God and His children.  God the Holy Spirit wrote the minutes of the meeting engrossed it with seven seals and handed it over to God the Father, which is where it is to this day.

Although the three members of the Godhead have important roles to play in the creation and redemption process, the central figure in that plan is God the Son hence the Scroll is also known as the Lamb’s Book of Life.

The Scroll was written both on the inside and on the outside as the eternal plan of God for the ages. Consequently, in the Original Plan of God provision was made for the creation of Angels, Time, the Heavens, Earth and Mankind. This Plan was written on the inside of the Book and has already been carried out.

Since Omniscient God knew about the failure of some of His created beings, modalities were set for the redemption of what God would lose. Thus, on the outside of the Book was written the Plan of Redemption.

What is written on the parchment is God’s plan for the expansion of His household from the invisible to the visible realm.

The Scroll is about Jesus the Lamb of God and His brethren. The earth was created for them.

The Lamb of God is God the Father in human flesh. Jesus Christ is the Son of God; He is also the Son of Man. The brethren of the Lamb are sons of God also known as Hypostatic Chips who need earthen vessels to transform to sons of men in order to quality to inherit the earth.

Since Jesus has gone to the Cross why has He not taken the Scroll from the Father? Two main reasons: the leasehold God gave to the first Adam has not expired. Secondly, Jesus is the Head of the church. His wife is not with Him. Therefore church rapture must take place before He becomes eligible to take the title deed of the earth from the Father.

Therefore, the church must be in heaven before the Lord can take possession of His domain.

This is part one of a series of short messages on the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Command To Grow In Grace

There is no way a Christian who is not growing in grace per time will not stumble and fall. “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” (2 Pet 3:18)

Being the recipient of a divine miracle is not evidence of grace growth. Attending camp meetings, conferences, listening to anointed messages or going to spend time in ‘mountains’ does not guarantee growth in grace.

These activities have their place in the life of a believer in that they are some of the avenue for acquiring knowledge. Impartation through the laying of hands is not the way to grow in grace.

You grow in grace by being born and reborn according to the original Apostles doctrine. The Apostles’ doctrine is not another set of fundamental truth but designs for practical application of the concepts in the doctrine of Christ.

Next step is to learn how to hear from God for yourself. You will never grow by depending on others all the time to hear from God on your behalf.

To grow in grace you must stir the gift of the Holy Spirit upon your life. Every born again Christian is imbued with at least one gift of the Holy Spirit. It is your sacred duty to know what it is, stir it by prayer and renewing of the mind.

Once that is done, the next step is to use it to edify the house church where you belong and to minister to unbelievers as prompted by the Holy Spirit. This brings increase in faith and grace work.

As you witness the transformational work of the Holy Spirit through your life you begin to grow from one level of faith to the next higher one until you come to full maturity in Christ Jesus.

To read on your device:

One of the biggest challenges that face Christians is the fear of dying prematurely. God has promised that those who obey Him will live long. But long life is not length of days. Not to be born at all is better than to live long purposelessly.

God has not given us the spirit of fear; He has given us eternal life that carries power, love and a sound mind.  Reject fear.

God does not reckon time the way we do. We reckon length of days or old age from the perspective of how long a person has lived on the earth. God reckons length of days from the perspective of fulfillment of destiny.

When He says ‘with long life I will satisfy thee’ it means ‘If you are willing and obedient, He will make it His responsibility that you live long enough to fulfill your divine task on earth.

Moses lived 120 years but died prematurely. He died before his time. But because he was the meekest man on earth and served God with his whole heart, God by the hand of Archangel Michael raised him from the dead and took him to Heaven. He will be brought back to earth during the Tribulation Period to fulfill his destiny before dying properly.

John the Baptist lived 31 years and died at a very old age. He fulfilled his divine assignment completely. His continued stay on earth would have had a negative effect on the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. He himself said: “He (Christ) must increase, but I must decrease.” (Jn 3:30)

Elijah disturbed God so much with the desire to die when he had not completed his duty tour. Because of his previously demonstrated faithfulness, God took him to heaven to bring him back during the Tribulation Period to complete his work before dying.

Josiah fulfilled his destiny and God permitted his foolishness to be the means of bringing him home.

On several occasions Satan induced the Jews to kill Jesus. “Therefore they sought to take Him; but no one laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come” (Jn 7:30). Every person implanted with a Hypostatic Chip has inscribed therein the hour to return to base.

Consequently, it is impossible for a child of God who is living in obedience to the will of the Father to die before his or her time.

If what you are doing now is not in line with the divine plan for your existence on earth, God is not obliged to prevent you from dying prematurely. If a Christian dies before the appointed time, as far as God is concerned, he or she has no need for the balance of his or her days.

Are you a born again Christian? Are you living in the perfect will of the Father? Then rejoice “for you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” (Col 3:3)
